Hi, I'm Liz!

I'm a visual artist, educator, and recent Harvard graduate who studied Applied Mathematics and Sociology.

For a long time, I thought my interests lived in separate worlds. On one side were painting, animation, design, and making things with my hands. On the other were mathematical models, data, statistics, coding, complex systems. I spent much of college trying to figure out how these seemingly different ways of thinking could coexist.

Over time, I've realized they're driven by the same impulse.

​

I'm fascinated by how people find patterns, create meaning, and build structure from complexity. Whether I'm sketching, teaching, animating, writing code, or analyzing data, I'm usually asking some version of the same question: how can we make sense of all the noise around us?

​

Sometimes that question leads me to a canvas. Sometimes it leads me to a classroom, a research project, or a mathematical model. 

​

I guess I sit somewhere between the visual and the analytical. I oscillate towards different ends occasionally, but they all lead me to building things—images, animations, games, explanations.
